33. Rue du Tournon. Paris -

Wednesday -

Dear Mr. Huish -

You must have recieved by now the five packages of proofs sent by Colis Postal[3] with great care - Mr. Thomson[4] of the Goupil Co. who was here today, takes over with him by club train on Friday the remaining package which he is kind enough to carry with him & deliver to you personally -

Kindly let me hear from you when [p. 2] you & Mr. Browne[5] have gone through them -

I have also begged Mr. Thomson to transmit to you one or two things I wished to say to you about the present price you should ask for these proofs - after which I will have made my last effort for their well being and they must be left to "go by the Board" -

Of course there still remains a matter of printing from the two plates - "The Doorway" & "the Beggars"[6] - also the destroyed plate and its proof "the Palaces" - This when I get by & bye the time and am well in my new studio -

For the present we are leaving town very shortly - for the sea side -

I am much obliged to you about the cheque - which it is understood you make out to Messrs G. & W. Webb[7] -

Kindly direct the Envelope toWilliam Webb Esq
11. Austin Friars
E. C.

Very faithfully Yours

J McN. Whistler
