2.  Frederic Leighton
Frederic Leighton (1830-1896), painter and sculptor [more]. This letter relates to JW's claim that, as President of the Society of British Artists, he had not been invited to the Royal Academy Soirée. The Soirée usually took place about eight or nine weeks after the Opening Day of the Summer Exhibition at the beginning of May. See #02509, #02510.
