August 26

Dear Whistler

I have received a letter from Mr Le Patourel[3] relating to our new title and it makes me think that I have never apologised for my somewhat abrupt [p. 2] departure from our last meeting but the business I then [took?] was somewhat peremptory -

As an old member let me thank you for the energy and perseverance shown by you in the interests of the Society and that notwithstanding its present financial [p. 3] condition I have the strongest hopes of a brilliant future -

Thanking you most Sincerely,

Believe Me
Yours Very Truly

Geo. A. Holmes
