Je m'empresse de vous annoncer que je viens de signer un arrêté[3] portant acquisition, moyennant quatre mille francs, pour le Musée National du Luxembourg, où il sera immédiatement exposé, du Portrait[4] dont vous êtes l'auteur et qui est en ce moment chez MMrs. Boussod et Valadon[5].

Je vous exprime de nouveau toute la satisfaction que j'éprouve de pouvoir enrichir les collections de l'Etat d'un de vos ouvrages les plus précieux et les plus justement admirés.

Veuillez agréer, Monsieur, l'assurance de mes sentiments les plus distingués.
