Dear Mr Whistler
The Silver Show closes on Saturday, and we are indeed very much beholden to you, not only for depriving yourself for so long of the pleasure which I know its presence is to you, but in adding to the interest of the Exhibition [p. 2] to so great an extent by the loan. The papers will have conveyed to you its appreciation of the public which I can very thoroughly endorse & I personaly [sic] shall be very loth to part with what has been, not only such a pleasure, but, such a lesson to look at.
I am very sorry that you have been unable to come & see it personally so I must see whether I cannot have a photograph [p. 3] taken of it for you to see.
I hope that now that the year is beginning to draw out,
that we may soon hear of your being out & about again.
I propose to send the silver home on Tuesday afternoon, the 3rd Feb, if that will suit you.
Believe me with renewed thanks to be
Vy failly yrs
