Dear Mr Whistler

Enclosed I am sending you check for £10. 10 6 which is the amount due to you for printing the etchings as per enclosed account. This has nothing to do with the £20 - which we sent you on account of the lithographs which we still hold & await exhibition of. If you can print us some more [p. 2] Doorways[2] we should be much obliged. Kindly do so when you have leisure.

We still have in hopes of having an exhibition of your works. We are to open one in a fortnights time of Phil Mays[3] drawings. I believe that you have expressed a good opinion of them. It would give his show a lift if you could let me have this in black & white that we might show to admirers of your work & who would be guided by it.

I do hope that you have better account to give of Mrs. Whistlers[4] health!

Believe me to be
Failly yrs
