This is the last date on the account, which started on 25 January 1883.
2. The Fine Art Society
The account was kept by Charles James Whistler Hanson (1870-1935), engineer, son of JW and Louisa Fanny Hanson [more], on JW's behalf. The prints were all delivered to the Fine Art Society, London art dealers and print publishers (see letter from E. G. Brown to JW, 18 June 1887, #01190).
3. Nocturne Riva
The list is mostly of Venetian etchings, Nocturne (K.184), The Doorway (K.188), Upright Venice (K.205), The Two Doorways (K.193), The Little Lagoon (K.186), The Rialto (K.211), The Traghetto, No.2 (K.191), Little Venice (K.183), probably The Riva, No.1 (K.192), La Salute: Dawn (K.215), Little Salute (K.220), The Dyer (K.219), The Beggars (K.194), The Mast (K.195), The Little Mast (K.185), Quiet Canal (K.214), The Piazzetta (K.189) and Old Putney Bridge (K.178). Many of these were published in Mr Whistler's Etchings of Venice, 1880 (the first 'Venice Set') (K. 183-189, 191-195). (excat 5). A few were from A Set of twenty-six etchings of Venice, 1886 (the second 'Venice set') (K.196-216, 233-237). (excat 6), and several were never published. In the original document, the etchings were listed on the left, and the dates were written vertically above the columns to right. Where the names of etchings are underlined, this is done in red ink.

Old Putney Bridge (K.178) was also published by the FAS, in 1879.

There is no clear order to the numbers pencilled on this page (which may be written in JW's hand); '48 - 6' is written upside-down to the rest.
