Dear Sir -
I will let Mr Huish[3] have the plate of "Old Battersea Bridge"[4] at the same price I originally asked him for the "Old Putney Bridge"[5] - viz. one hundred & ten guineas -
I shall keep for my own private collection one proof of each state - and two
I shall only stipulate for two proofs of the complete condition of the plate - keeping of course one proof of [p. 2] each of the preparatory or trial states for my own private collection -
The plate is a very successful piece of biting in and in perfect working order -
It will give I believe from 40 to 50 proofs without trouble - I will print the first 20 myself - If after this I think that a new state of the plate could be made, I engage to do so for another sum of 10 guineas and three more proofs -
I shall call tomorrow evening at between 5 & 6 o'clock - When Mr Huish will perhaps kindly have been kind enough to have his decision[6] with you - for if he does not wish care to risk it I should like to lose no time in proceeding on my own account -
Very faithfully Yrs
J W
