A SET OF TWENTY-SIX ETCHINGS
JAMES A. McN. WHISTLER.
Messrs. Dowdeswell have the honour to announce the publication of a Set of Twenty-six important Etchings by Mr. Whistler.
Twenty-one of the plates were etched at Venice, the remaining five subjects being English.
Thirty sets only will be printed. Every impression will bear Mr. Whistler's autograph, and will be mounted on board, and issued in a portfolio specially designed by the Etcher, who has also written a short résumé of the principles held by him in this matter.
The price of the set will be Fifty Guineas.

The printing of the etchings listed took place over this period; the numbers of some prints recorded in this document closely correspond to those recorded in a list sent by JW to Dowdeswell, 28 July 1887, #00869. See also the similar record of a later stage of the printing, at #08698.
