CASTLE PRIORY,
WALLINGFORD.
Berks

April 12th 89

Dear Sir

I immensely regret - having an engagement to dinner on that day - that I am debarred from [p. 2] taking a place, as I should much have liked doing, at the proposed complimentary dinner[3] to Mr. Whistler, for whose great talents no one has a keener appreciation than myself -

I enclose a guinea for a card, & trust I may still [p. 3] be able to enter an appearance before the company breaks up -

Faithfully Yrs

H. M. B. Davis

W. C. Symons Esq.
