Dear Mrs Anderson -

I have written to Mr. Charles L. Freer[4] giving him an order for two of my paintings from the International[5] - - You will I suppose have received them all by this time - When the order is presented you will ask if he would like to take the little painting[6] "la Cigale[7]" away with him - And the other[8] you will see yourself to the hotel in a cab with utmost care - There is to be no question as to money but this matter of the two pictures - Mr Freer wants t[w]o of the proofs that went to the International, he will give you the numbers - of these you can give him the price - unless already bespoken by Gutekunst[9] - in which case you will [p. 2] say that you will let him know - If he have them he will pay you as to the Company - Also you can show him all the other drawings paintings &c - .

Mind that no accident this time I beg lead to your absence when Mr Freer calls!! -

As to Gutekunst you will tell him, as I have written to you, that percentage allowed by Comp[an]y is 15% - for etching 12 pc. for lithog[rap]hs & 10 pc. for drawings etc -

In haste - Will write on Sunday further about prices

J McN Whistler
