Robert Crawford (1845-1915), of Burns, Crawford and Co. [more]. Robert Crawford was the Glasgow Councillor who was Convener of the Fine Art Committee responsible for buying Arrangement in Grey and Black, No. 2: Portrait of Thomas Carlyle (YMSM 137), and who went to London to negotiate the sale. He had written to JW on 2 May (#00760).
