GLASGOW,
Tuesday
21 April 1903
Dear Doctor Whistler
Today only have I learned your address & write you my congratulations[2] & wish I could repeat all the kind things which were said of you at the graduation ceremony [p. 2] which I attended & could compare with the ceremony of the old St Andrews University which made me an LL.D so recently
I wish you had been able to be present that I might have touched your hand [p. 3] in memory of the "old time before"
My sister[3] is here from Loch Long & joins her remembrances with mine
Yours truly
J. K. Caird
