110. Rue du Bac. Paris -
Two words of welcome to the returning Publisher! - Bravo! - Hurrah! Here we are again! -
Well my dear Heinemann I suppose you have of course become a terrible [p. 2] Yankee - & will be an awful trial in your club to the untravelled members! -
It is awfully nice of you to have at once written to us - and very thoughtful & kind to tell me all about my things in the Exhibition [3]- - I don't see how the devil anything can have gone wrong with the frames? - You surely don't mean that any of the pictures are without[4] frames? - Do write me another line and [p. 3] explain a little further - Also if you have a catalogue of the Art Department, do post it to me at once - We will take great care of it and return it when you come over -
As to the Lovel[5] account, I don't pretend to understand - Only of course it is nonsense for them to propose that after these years of selling they do not owe me a large sum! -
Everybody says they are swindlers - and I only had one little tiny cheque from Balestier[6] at the beginning! -
Enfin nous verrons[7] -
[p. 4] Paris is lovely -
Ask the "Black & White[8]" what they will pay for the [two deleted words, illegible] Mallarmé[9]?
A bientôt then!
