His Excellency Herr Von Metzsch.

Sir. -

I beg to thank you for your most courteous letter. informing me[4] of my appointment to the Royal Academy,

The gracious tidings therein contained have been delayed in reaching me because of long absence and much travelling abroad -

I would pray your Excellency to convey to the distinguished members my emminent confreres of the Royal Academy of Dresden my high great sense of the great honour dignity conferred upon me by my admission into their august body.


And I would even venture to ask that through your Excellency's kind offices the respectful expression of my thanks, and my profound appreciation may reach the ear of be transmitted His most Gracious Majesty. the King - who has so graciously deigned to confrères, the high the distinction conferred - bestowed upon me

May I also embody with my gratitude my respectful - felicitations

And I would even further venture to ask that through your Excellencys kind offices, my thanks be transmitted to His Majesty, together with the respectful expression of my profound appreciation of the Royal confirmation - Sanction of the added lustre to the high honour conferred
