My dear Balestier -
I hear you have been laid up with a horrid cold - That's bad! and I can sympathize -
They tell me now though that you are quite better - and so the frivolities of life will begin with you again - Wherefore why not at once send me cheque for Lovell? -
There will be the drollery of giving it to me - and the rollicking of taking it from Lovell!! -
Quel tonique mon cher "pour amolir et adoucir les entrailles de Monsieur"!
As soon as I can get out myself I shall come round and bring you joy - which is health! -
