BEEFSTEAK CLUB[3],
KING WILLIAM STREET
STRAND, W. C.

My dear Ludovici, -

You know that I was always to give you the warning when anything was to come on, so that you might whip up the necessary votes -

Well on Monday Starr[4] and Harper Pennington[5] are to come up as candidates - [p. 2] Starr is, I understand sure - so I want all your energies used and your influence brought to bear in the interest of Pennington -

He will be of the utmost advantage to us - beside being charming and bon camarade to the very last -

Je ne vous dis que ça[6] -

Mind you get them all to vote for him -

Always
