Dear Mr Whistler,
You will be glad to hear that your picture[2] arrived safely this morning and that I like it as well as, if not better than when I saw it in your studio. If I do not succeed in finding a buyer for it, it will be no fault of mine. We shall see - If it is not too much to ask I wish you would give me some [p. 2] particulars as to the title etc. Not that I care myself but I am only a dealer and people will ask question[s.] I thought of you last night and of the dinner[3] that was being offered to you and I wished I had been there
