23rd April 1889

Dear Mr Whistler,

Messrs Dolman[2], [Son?] have promised me to send for your picture[3] tomorrow between 11 and 1 o'clock. I hope it will be convenient for you to let their people take it away by that time.

I take this opportunity to thank you again for your [p. 2] kindness in sending me this picture. I hope to find a genial home for it in Holland. I would think my own all the sweeter if I could decide upon buying it and keeping it, but you may depend upon my doing the best I can.

I shall write to you again when I am in Holland to inform you of the safe arrival [p. 3] of the picture

With kind regards to yourself and Mrs Whistler[4]
I remain,
Yours sincerely

E. J. van Wisselingh
