Although originally asssumed to date from about 1886, this rough list (written in pencil) appears to relate to JW's plans for an exhibition, Nocturnes, Marines and Chevalet Pieces, Boussod, Valadon & Cie, Goupil Gallery, London, 1892. Another such list is dated [4 January 1892], #08214.

Of the large pictures listed, those shown were Arrangement in Grey and Black, No. 2: Portrait of Thomas Carlyle (YMSM 137), Arrangement in Black: La Dame au brodequin jaune - Portrait of Lady Archibald Campbell (YMSM 242), Harmony in Grey and Green: Miss Cicely Alexander (YMSM 129), Arrangement in Brown and Black: Portrait of Miss Rosa Corder (YMSM 203), Arrangement in Black and Brown: The Fur Jacket (YMSM 181), Harmony in Pink and Grey: Portrait of Lady Meux (YMSM 229). A photograph of Arrangement in Grey and Black: Portrait of the Painter's Mother (YMSM 101) was shown. The other paintings listed, but not exhibited, were possibly Arrangement in Blue and Green (YMSM 193), Harmony in White and Ivory: Portrait of Lady Colin Campbell (YMSM 354), Arrangement in Black: Portrait of Señor Pablo de Sarasate (YMSM 315), Harmony in Coral and Blue: Miss Finch (YMSM 237), Harmony in Red: Lamplight (YMSM 253), Harmony in Blue and Violet: Miss Finch (YMSM 239), possibly Harmony in Yellow and Gold: The Gold Girl - Connie Gilchrist (YMSM 190) or The Blue Girl: Portrait of Connie Gilchrist (YMSM 207), Little Maud Hamerton (YMSM 347) and Harmony in Blue and Gold (YMSM 197). 'Millie Finch Black' has not been identified, the other known large portrait being Harmony in Fawn Colour and Purple: Portrait of Miss Milly Finch (YMSM 238).

JW's pastels of Venice, drawn 1879-1880, such as Sunset; red and gold - Salute (M.810). These were not included in numbers in any shows except Venice Pastels, The Fine Art Society, London, 1881.
