Dear Sir -

Thanks for your note .. I fear however, that I shall not be able to be present at the meeting of the '[']Whistler Dinner[3]" comm[itt]ee as - like everyone else, - I am working hard just now, & don't can't well spare the time to run up - (we have a bad train service here - no late trains - & it means a night in town & late to work next day!) -

But it may happen that I shall have to go to town, in which [p. 2] case, of course, I will attend the meeting
