Dear Whistler

I dreamed that I had written you to ask if you still considered that you had promised to visit me here if you could arrange it[.] Perhaps you are away somewhere and my dream was but a dream - Mrs. Harrison[2] tells me you are still [p. 2] in the land of the living. I saw her last week at Whitly

Let me know if you & your wife[3] are coming & about what time would suit you that I may make my plans

My sister[4] & Colonel Marryat[5] arrive this week - They would I know be glad to see [p. 3] you.

The summer is rather wet up till now but we hope it may change

with kind regards
Yours faithfully

J. K. Caird
