TELEGRAMS,
DELICIOUS,
LONDON.

GARLANT'S HOTEL,
SUFFOLK STREET,
PALL MALL.

Monday morning

My dear Major -

Your letter this morning -

Why didn't you say what was in Eddy's[3] letter? - -

I shall I hope get off tomorrow - and back to you in the afternoon - but will send word -

Holland as I told you a failure -

Of course make [p. 2] the Pennells[4] stay and wait for me! -

I wonder about Mrs Hannay! -

Ludovici[5] has been very nice - but was unable to stay with me -

Now something ought to be done about Ratier[6] and the Rue du Bac - But I suppose they are all swallowed up in Rennes[7] - And Paris seems to be in a pretty bad way just now - though of course all greatly exagerated [sic] in the papers -

Well I will leave this open until the evening -

You had my telegram in its wrecked condition as you say - but what of the letter[8] I wrote you on Sunday? that ought to have reached you? -

I have had an amazing letter from the Christine[9] that I think Miss Frank[10] will be pleased with -

Where is Bunnie[11]?

Coming tomorrow -

Bringing birds to your Mother[12] for dinner - so prepare fire for roasting

[Affectly?]

the General
