Dear Sir:-
Referring to your letter[3] dated August 23rd, I take pleasure in informing you that I am sending to-day, under registered mail, to your name at the above address the two diplomas of Grand Prize awarded to you in classes 7 and 8 at the late Paris Exposition[4], and also the 2 bronze medals commemorating same.
I would add that in the case of typographical errors on these diplomas or medals, it is necessary, if they are to be rectified, that said diplomas or medals be returned at once to me by registered mail.

JW exhibited several major pictures, Symphony in White, No. 2: The Little White Girl (YMSM 52); Mother of Pearl and Silver: The Andalusian (YMSM 378) and Brown and Gold (YMSM 440). He received the Grand Prix award for painting and engraving (B. D. Woodward to JW, #04426).
