Your difficulties I dont really at this moment, see my way to greatly lessen -
It is a pity the Captain[3] could not have taken you with him - if he has gone - When does he come back? -
You see if matters go better and some of the pictures sell I might spare you something to help you a bit - but now I am [p. 2] in the greatest uncertainty about my own liabilities -
However I still send you cheque enclosed for £5 -. and I wish you would write me word immediately that you have received it safely -
I think upon reflection that I shall send it to care of the Captain - No use - I can't find his address - besides I suppose you would have let me know if you were not still all right in Featherstone Buildings -
If you want to go to the Grafton Galleries[4] you might tear off this other half and hand it in[5]
