My Dear Mr. Whistler:--
I have received, within the last two days, the papers to take a commission in the suit which Mrs. Ford[3] is bringing against her husband, Sheridan Ford[4]. Do you feel disposed to give your testimony against Mr. Ford in regard to what you know as to his private character, &c.? If you feel so inclined, would you not call at the Consulate of the United States on March 29th, at half-past eleven a.m; and submit yourself to examination by me?
Yours faithfully,
H A Alexander
