15 [September] Called on Whistler[,] Oscar[2] came in[,] called on Wortley[3] re his ho[use]. consulted me as to his seeing Peto £ & endeavouring to arrange without prejudice[,] sd he might try. Drove to town with Whistler. At 4 took chair of Soc English Players. Dined at Albion with Tree[4] & home. Whistler & Holmes[5] agreed to take flats[6] & put down £200. [...]
24 [September] Whistler here to meet Holmes latter did not come so W went to him re flats in Tite St. returned later lent me 10/. Mrs Scott Siddons came abt 4.30 discussed theatre scheme.
25 [September] Whistler here drawing Thames dined here Hor. Green called Geo Alexander came & with him to Barthes[7] then home.
26 [September] Holmes here met Sharpe [8]they did not agree re flats. Braine called. Holmes & I to Club at 12 to meet S.E.P. no-one came. Waited till 3 then home. Whistler came re flats wrote letters at his own suggestion 1 to his bankers & 1 to Reid offering to take 3 plots in Tite St. Mrs G[9]. present[.] I wrote copies of letters for him while he worked at his drawing of Thames.
27 [September] Called at Reids wrote letter re land & Whistler. Sent to Mrs Beere & Evelyn for list [...]
