The Maggs catalogue identifies this as 'Mr Wheatley'. This was probably William R. Wheatley (b. ca 1862), gold-beater [more]; he is recorded as working for JW during the period between December 1882 and January 1884 (see #09434, ##10027, #07902).

5.  Golds
JW's works in 'Notes' - 'Harmonies' - 'Nocturnes', Messrs Dowdeswell, London, 1884, were framed in three shades of gold.
