My dear Sauter -
I can only suppose that a long letter I wrote you at least a month ago - containing cutting anent our friends the "Generals", never reached you! -
So now I hope you will sit down and write me all you make out that has happened at Southampton -

JW was on the Boer side during the Boer War, 1899-1902.
