Notes:

1.  [4 November 1882]
The letter is dated in a later hand '4 Nov 1882', and may go with the envelope with that date postmark (#11006), though Monday was in fact the 6th November. The butterfly corresponds to a date of ca 1882.

2.  [Jane Pattison?]
Mrs Jane Patisson, a social acquaintance who posed for JW [more]. This is part of a collection of letters to her, now mounted in an album. The style of writing, however, is surprisingly informal.

3.  Waldo Storey
Thomas Waldo Story (1854-1915), sculptor [more].
