Identity:
Francis John Wyburd was a painter of genre, literary and historical subjects.
Life:
He studied with the lithographic artist Thomas Fairland and later at the Royal Academy Schools. He exhibited from 1846 at the Royal Academy and the British Institution amongst others and was a member of the Royal Society of British Artists when JW was President from 1886-88.
