Life:
A barrister, he was admitted to Trinity College in 1864, and as a bencher of the Middle Temple specialised on the South East circuit. He was elected Liberal MP for the Montrose Burghs from 1885 to 1895. He may have known JW in the mid-seventies, when his name appears in an address book (#12714).
