Margaret Rutherford married the American politician and diplomat Henry White, who was posted to London from 1884-1893. They had a son, John Campbell White (1884-1967), who was born in London on 17 March 1884.

Life:

Her portrait, painted by J. S. Sargent in 1883, is in the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington DC.
