Identity:
Emery Walker was a process engraver and typographical expert. At the time of the 1881 census he was living with his Irish wife, Mary Grace Walker at 3 Hammersmith Terrace. He is mentioned in JW's correspondence in the late 1880s.
Life:
He worked with William Morris at the Kelmscott Press. In 1900 he founded the Doves Press with T. J. Cobden-Sanderson; he left the press in 1905. Subsequently he worked with Harry Graf Kessler on the type for the Cranach Press.
