David Muirhead was a landscape painter. His brother John Muirhead was also a landscape painter.

Life:

Muirhead studied at the Royal Scottish Academy Schools and at the Westminster School of Art. He joined the New English Art Club in 1900, became an associate of the Royal Society of Painters in Water Colours in 1924 and an associate of the Royal Academy in 1928. He was also a member of the Society of 25 Artists.

Having been invited to exhibit with the International Society of Sculptors, Painters and Gravers in 1898, a society that formed with JW as its President in this year, he showed the oils In the Garden (cat. no. 206), By the Sea (cat. no. 225) and Day Dreams (cat. no. 265).
