Identity:
A. Mazel was the Councillor and First Secretary of the Netherland Legation in London. He was the son of the painter and etcher Jan-Zacharie Mazel, who was Director of the Royal Picture Gallery in the Mauritshuis from 1841 to 1874.
Life:
In 1872 A. Mazel wrote to JW on his father's behalf to enquire where he could obtain JW's etchings for the Mauritshaus collection (#04264). At this date he was living at 26 Eaton Square, London. He was the author of Solidarisme, Individualisme et Socialisme, (Paris, 1882).
