Identity:
Virginia March, née Gabriel, was the second wife of George Edward March (1834-1922), a civil servant in the Foreign Office. He married his first wife, Florence Beaumont, in 1858, Virginia in 1873, and following her death in 1877, he married his third wife, Margaret Mary Roberts.
Life:
The Marches lived at 58 Cadogan Place, SW. They were acquaintances of JW and in 1874/6 their names were included in a list by JW, possibly a guest list for a private view of his Pall Mall exhibition of 1874 or a subscription list for his Venice etchings as proposed in 1876 [#12714].
