Identity:
Luff was married to Maria Luff (who was born in Kent and aged 39, with two sons and a daughter, at the time of the 1881 census).
Life:
Luff was another victim of Whistler's failing finances and taste for wine during the years before his bankruptcy in 1879.
He was a well-established wine-merchant employing two porters at 227 Kings Road in Chelsea in 1881, which shows that his finances survived Whistler's bankruptcy.
