Identity:
Lady Mary S. Loyd was an author. She was the daughter of Richard John, 4th Earl of Donoughmore (1823-1866) and Thomasina Jocelyn, the daughter of Walter Steele of Monalty. She had five brothers and one sister. She married Lewis Vivian Loyd, the M.P. for Chatham (1892-95).
Life:
Loyd's publications include Brother and Sister: A Memoir and the Letters of Ernest and Henriette Renan, Villiers d'Isle Adam and Memoirs of the Prince de Joinville. She also translated the New Letters of Napoleon I and Columba and Carmen.
