Identity:
Dr Francis (Frank) Herbert Hayward was a poet, philosopher and writer on educational matters.
Life:
Hayward became Inspector of Schools in 1905. His literary works include The ethical philosophy of Sidgwick; nine essays, critical and expository (1901) and The lesson in appreciation; an essay on the pedagogics of beauty (1915).
