Lindsay Bernard Hall was an artist who specialised in figure and portrait painting.

Life:

Hall was active in exhibiting between 1882 and 1923, showing in London at the Royal Academy, Royal Institute of Oil Painters, New English Art Club and Society of British Artists, a Society which elected JW its President in 1886, as well as at the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool and Manchester City Art Gallery.

He also exhibited with the International Society of Sculptors, Painters and Gravers, a society, of which JW had been given Presidency in 1898. In 1886 Hall was elected a member of the New English Art Club, a group with which JW exhibited in 1888. He was appointed Director of the National Gallery of Victoria in 1892.

Hall was among those proposed invitees to a dinner organised by W. C. Symons to congratulate JW on becoming an Honorary Member of the Royal Academy of Munich, a dinner which was to be held at the Criterion in Piccadilly on 1 May 1889 (#00631).
