Joseph Finegan was a Confederate General during the American civil war.
Joseph Finegan migrated to Florida in his early twenties from Clones in Ireland and established himself as a lumberman and railroad operator. In April 1862 he took command of the District of Middle and East Florida. From 1865 and 1866 he was a member of the Florida State Senate.
