Thomas Charles Farrer was a painter and an etcher.


Farrer was elected a member of the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers in 1885. He exhibited in London not only with this society but at the Royal Academy, Fine Art Society, Grosvenor Gallery, New Gallery, Royal Institute of Oil Painters and New Gallery, as well as at the Royal Scottish Academy in Edinburgh, Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool and Manchester City Art Gallery. He also exhibited with the Royal Society of British Artists which made JW its President in 1886.

In 1889 Farrer was listed alongside R. W. Macbeth and William Lionel Wyllie on an advertisement that recommended Rhind's liquid etching grounds (#05181).
