Thomas Davidson, Jr, was a Glasgow artist, and a pipe manufacturer.

Life:

Davidson, who was active exhibiting between 1880 and 1890, was a painter in oil and water colour. He exhibited at the Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts. He was a lay member of Glasgow Art Club, admitted on 28 February 1888, and resigned on 31 October 1898, at which time he was living at 3 Spring Gardens, Glasgow. In 1891 he was amongst those Glasgow artists who appended his signature to a list of names of those who wished to see Whistler's Arrangement in Grey and Black, No. 2: Portrait of Thomas Carlyle (YMSM 137) bought by the city (#12326).
