Identity:
Virginia Arditi was the daughter of William S. Warwick, Richmond, VA. In June 1856 she married Luigi Arditi (1822-1903), a conductor, composer and violinist. They had two children Giulietta (b. ca 1859) and Luigi (b. ca 1866).
Life:
Luigi Arditi came to London in 1858 where he conducted, mainly in opera. Virginia sang well as an amateur with Lady Downshire at the piano in 1866. Between 1874-1877 she also sang in alternate seasons at promenade concerts in London and in Vienna. From 1878-1894 she worked in America and London.
