William Young was a Glasgow landscape painter.
Life:
He exhibited from 1880, chiefly at the Glasgow Institute of Fine Arts, the Royal Scottish Academy and Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour. Young was a signatory to the petition urging Glasgow Corporation to purchase Arrangement in Grey and Black, No. 2: Portrait of Thomas Carlyle (YMSM 137) in 1891 (#12326).
