Allen Upward was a barrister and writer.
Life:
Upward was first called to the Bar in 1887 and later practised in South Wales. His literary output includes poems, plays and novels. He also wrote on political and historical topics as a result of his travels in Greece and Turkey during the 1890s. His publications include Songs in Ziklag (1888); The Prince of Balkistan (1895); The East end of Europe; The report of an unofficial mission to the European provinces of Turkey on the eve of the revolution, (1908) and Paradise Found, or, the superman found out, in three acts, (1915).
