John A. Thrupp, who lived in Marylebone, London, was a collector. He had a son, Horace William Thrupp.

Life:

He may have been the John Thrupp who wrote The Anglo-Saxon Home. A history of the domestic arts and customs of England from the fifth to the eleventh centuries, London, 1862.
