Jean Jacques Rousseau was an etcher and painter of genre, landscape and animals.

Life:

Rousseau studied with Desportes and Henri Lehmann at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and exhibited at the Salon from 1876. He corresponded with JW in 1901 in connection with the Société Internationale de Peinture et de Sculpture, Galerie Georges Petit, Paris, 1901.

He became a Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur in 1903.
