Identity:
Raphael Pinti was an art dealer and picture restorer.
Life:
In 1868 he commissioned the Florence based Antonio Ciseri (1821-1891) to paint a second version of his Transport of the body of Christ (the first version is in the Galleria d'Arte Moderna di Palazzo Pitti, Florence). Charles Cattermole visited Ciseri's studio in 1869/1870 to negotiate engraving rights, preumably intending to use Pinti's version.
